Fall O-G Course Registration Opening Early August

Orton-Gillingham of Minnesota (OGM) provides teachers, tutors and parents with quality training and practicum supervision in the Orton-Gillingham Approach to teaching reading, spelling and writing. Classes are offered by professionals who have been training in the Twin Cities area for over two decades. OGM also provides information about dyslexia and learning disabilities as well as referrals to practitioners trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach.

OG Level 1 with a week night student practicum will be offered at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School, 1900 Stanford Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105 starting in late September. A Duluth satellite location will also be offering a student practicum in conjunction with the classes in St. Paul.  Registration for this course and student practicum at both locations will begin in early August.

2016 Fall Course

Orton-Gillingham Level 1 Course: The participants will learn strategies to teach beginning reading including phonemic awareness, phonics, and spelling using a multisensory, structured, systematic and cumulative approach plus how to use error analysis to drive instruction. The participant will create lesson plans and work one-to-one with students in a supervised practicum setting. All course materials are included. Early Bird Registration ends September 10. Practicum usually appropriate for students in grades K-3.
